The path we follow to take a site from first assessment through to full production.

Phase 01

Site Assessment & Feasibility

Detailed analysis of the proposed site:

  • Soil profile and structure
  • Climate and microclimate conditions
  • Water availability and irrigation potential
  • Topography and drainage

Assessment of suitability and clear recommendations on vineyard potential and limitations.

Phase 02

Vineyard Planning & Design

Selection of appropriate grape varieties and clones, with a block layout designed around:

  • Row orientation and spacing
  • Irrigation design
  • Trellis system selection
  • Access roads and infrastructure

Long-term management considerations, including mechanisation and future expansion.

Phase 03

Site Preparation

Thorough land preparation:

  • Removal of existing vegetation if required
  • Deep ripping and soil amendments
  • Levelling or contouring for drainage

Installation of irrigation infrastructure, followed by trellis and post installation.

Phase 04

Planting

Sourcing of high-quality, certified vines suited to the site, with ground preparation prior to planting:

  • Vine planting by hand or mechanical planter
  • Immediate post-plant watering and protection
  • Vine guards fitted
  • Mulching to retain moisture

Phase 05

Establishment Phase (Years 1 to 3)

Ongoing vine care:

  • Training young vines
  • Weed and pest control
  • Nutrient and irrigation management
  • Canopy development

Progressive trellis installation as vines grow, with minimal or no cropping in Years 1 to 2.

Phase 06

Early Production (Years 3 to 5)

Careful management of the first commercial crops:

  • Fine-tuning of canopy management and yield control
  • Continuous improvement of soil health and vine balance
  • Refinement of irrigation and spray programs

Full Production
